History
Fureviknipa became an area of significant interest due to its titanium ore mineralization bound to eclogite rocks. This mineralization was initially discovered in the 1980s by NGU geologists.
TiO2
Based on the rock sampling data, the geologic resource for the specified property showed mineralization with titanium in the range of 0.32-6.97% TiO2. The average content was determined to be 3.26% TiO2.
Infrastructure
Fureviknipa has proper road accessibility. The urban center, Forde, is situated merely 7 km away. Furthermore, the location presents a viable option for the transportation of mined raw materials to the designated plant situated at the Engebo site.
Exploration works done
A total of approximately 200 drill-cutting samples were collected. Boreholes reached depths of 20-25 cm. Additionally, 11 rock samples, each weighing up to 2.5 kg, were retrieved from the Fureviknipa Exploration License zone. All samples underwent thorough geological description and were labeled and pinpointed using GPS.
